Mamie Guidera, Afaf Meleis, Kim Hoover, Beth Ann Swan, and Bill McCool - Penn contingent attending the 15th ICOWHI Congress in Sao Pedro, Brazil November 7-11, 2004. Mamie is a Lecturer/Nurse Midwife in the Nurse Midwifery Program, and Bill is the Director of the Nurse Midwifery Program. Afaf gave the keynote, Bill was on a plenary panel, Mamie and Bill gave a presentation. Beth Ann Swan presented 2 papers -
one on "Advancing Evidence-based Interventions for Women," and the 2nd paper she presented on behalf of two undergraduate students, Sarah King and Rebecca Nanasi, on "Women and HIV/AIDS in Botswana." This paper was based on the two students' international exchange experience.
