Eight Ways to Join the Challenge.

The Kresge Foundation prides itself on supporting organizations that improve communities locally and around the world for generations to come. Penn Nursing is honored to be recognized as an organization that makes a tangible impact in Philadelphia and beyond. Faculty and students are involved in several community projects in the West Philadelphia community, such as the Living Independently For Elders program, which, in its tenth year, serves 355 current members and has served nearly 700 West Philadelphia residents with limited financial means who want to remain at home rather than enter a nursing home. Penn Nursing’s health care outreach transcends the borders of Philadelphia to Botswana, South Africa, Hong Kong, New Orleans and beyond.

Penn Nursing’s Where Science Leads Campaign is part of the University’s Making History Campaign, which seeks to build a more vibrant, dynamic and invested institution through the strengthening of faculty recruitment and retention, undergraduate scholarships, graduate and professional student aid, buildings and renovations and programs and research.
