Penn-ICOWHI Launches eCommons
In anticipation of the 18th Congress of the International Congress of Women’s Health Issues held at Penn this year, the eCommons has been launched. Funded by a grant from the Rockefeller Foundation, the eCommons seeks to provide an online forum for researchers, policy makers and applied professionals to discuss the most pressing issues facing women in urban environments. The eCommons is designed to continue conversations generated from the Congress in April to bring the dialogue to global proportions and produce solutions that meet the health needs of women in urban settings around the world. Join in the conversation today!
Penn Nursing partners with West Philadelphia shelter
Penn Nursing faculty, in conjunction with University of Pennsylvania’s Health System, will begin a year-long initiative to create educational programs on domestic violence prevention and maternal/child health promotion for the residents of Lutheran Settlement House’s Jane Addams Place in West Philadelphia. Supported by grants from Verizon Foundation and General Mills, the aim is to develop an eight-part education program that can be replicated throughout the city and region to teach mothers about domestic violence prevention and nutrition for them and their children.
Penn Nursing Ranked #1 in NIH Funding
The National Institutes of Health funds critical medical research at universities across the nation. This prestigious ranking attests to the world-class and cutting-edge research of faculty at Penn Nursing. See Dean Afaf Meleis's comments on this achievement

The Gift of Education
At Penn Nursing, we are producing the global health leaders of tomorrow. Your gifts to the Annual Fund help to support the students, their research and their ability to study abroad. The impact of your gift - along with those of our other alumni, faculty, parents and friends – is far greater than the dollars you give. Your gift has the ability to transform the lives not only of our students, but of the lives they save through their research and care, locally and globally. Your gift to the Annual Giving Fund, is a gift of education to a Penn Nursing student. Please give today!
