Grant to Support Educational Innovation
Penn Nursing has been awarded a $4.35 million grant from the Helene Fuld Trust, HSBC Bank USA, N.A. to implement upcoming undergraduate curriculum revisions. This award will underwrite a series of significant projects associated with full realization of the curriculum’s potential, including:
• Implementation of the new undergraduate curriculum.
• Renovation of the science laboratories and the first floor.
• Cutting-edge technology for simulation education and observation and creation of simulation models.
Renovations associated with implementing the new curriculum will upgrade the existing basic science labs, now over thirty years old, to improve teaching and incorporate new technologies and equipment. Within the classroom setting, these new spaces will bring a new focus on integrative learning, including technology for simulation education to assist students in making decisions about priorities for care through hands-on learning.
This award comes at the same time as a number-one ranking in Master’s education for Penn Nursing by U.S. News and World Report, underscoring the incredible energy and excellence of our students, faculty and staff.
