Learn more about ways to give to Penn Nursing

These funds support student scholarships, updates and enhancements to facilities and technology, and innovative programming to enhance today’s student experience.

Participation is crucial for the recruitment and retention of the top students and faculty and the enhancement of School facilities. Unrestricted funding from the Annual Giving Fund has been key to the state-of-the-art renovations to the new Claire M. Fagin Hall. From adding sound insulation to the Carol Ware Gates lobby to cut down on classroom distraction to adding wireless internet capability to the building’s first and second floors, support for the school’s only unrestricted spending fund allows Penn Nursing to address current and critical needs to remain the professions leading institution. 

In September, Annual Giving support will allow the school to broadly integrate into the curriculum its first Electronic Health Record system. The EHR software will provide students with training necessary to understand the same evolving technology of medical record keeping now in place the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and other major medical centers.

While EHR software from Eclipsys will be donated, costs to implement and maintain the system and develop related curriculum will be paid for with help from Annual Giving gifts. The opportunity for undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral students to use this important tool is a direct result of the generosity of alumni and friends who are committed to keeping Penn Nursing on the leading edge of the profession and guiding Where Science Leads.
