Global Health at Penn Nursing

Education, research and practice to promote global health

At Penn Nursing we strive to serve a global community through education, research and practice that effectively addresses local, national and global challenges to health.

We prepare students to meet the challenges of a global community through programs that engage them with the people, cultures and healthcare of our neighbors worldwide. Our study abroad, global health minor and international visiting scholars programs offer experiences to help broaden our students' healthcare perspectives and make a real difference to people in need.

Penn Nursing is a proud member of the global network of World Health Organization Collaborating Centers in Nursing and Midwifery Leadership, an international organization comprised of renowned nursing and midwifery leaders.

Our faculty is an important reason we are leaders in global health and nursing development. With a strong focus on social justice and health equity, our Center for Global Women's Health is an interdisciplinary collection of faculty and students who work to generate and translate research to promote the health of and empower women, girls and their families, and mentor students to do the same.
