International Visitors

The International Academic Enrichment Program (IAEP) is designed to provide visiting professional nurses and midwives with an academic professional development experience in a renowned university and school of nursing, based on individual goals and objectives. The goal of the program is to promote mutual cultural and professional enrichment. This goal is attained through exchange of knowledge, experience, and interactions with Penn faculty and staff. The academic dimension of the program is based on the stated goals and objectives of the professional visitor.

The many opportunities at Penn, a WHO Collaborating Center for Nursing and Midwifery Leadership, can be viewed at the School of Nursing Website.Faculty nursing expertise includes administration, adult health, adult oncology, family health, health informatics, health outcomes and policy research, gerontology, midwifery, neonatal health, pediatrics, psychiatric mental health, theory development and women's health. The website includes a brief overview of the academic programs included in the Biobehavioral and Health Sciences Division and the Family & Community Health Division, and faculty expertise and research.

The IAEP is a non-credit and non-degree program. Depending on the length and content of the program it may include a Certificate of Attendance.

Special Student status is available for post- baccalaureate,
post-masters, doctoral and post- doctoral applicants who wish to
participate in specific courses. The special student fee is based on the
number of courses selected.

Applicants who wish to participate in specific courses, and do not have English as a first language, are required to submit scores from the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). Details related to this test can be obtained from:

Visitor status is available for applicants choosing a short
individualized designed experience.
