Marie is one of the most trusted voices on women's health, wellness and patient empowerment. She is the author of The Body Shape Solution to Weight Loss, How to Save Your Own Life: The Savard System for Managing--and Controlling--Your Health Care and The Savard Health Record. Her newest book is Ask Dr. Marie: Straight Talk and Reassuring Answers to Your Most Private Questions, a guide to women's health. Dr. Savard is a frequent speaker and spokesperson on behalf of a wide array of health issues, featured in print, radio, online and television for ABC News. She strives not only inform, but to challenge people to take charge of their health and make the best decisions for themselves and for their family.
Dr. Savard has served as director of the Center for Women's Health at the Medical College of Pennsylvania, technical advisor to the United Nations' Fourth World Conference on Women in Beijing, advisor to the American Board of Internal Medicine Subcommittee on Clinical Competency in Women's Health, health columnist for Woman's Day magazine and senior medical consultant to Lifetime Television's Strong Medicine. In addition to her medical care of the religious sisters in Philadelphia, Dr. Savard is a member of the Board of Trustees of the University of Pennsylvania and of the Board of Overseers of the School of Nursing. She is a member of the public policy advisory board of the Susan B. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, Trustee of the College of Physicians and chair of the PhillyHealthInfo.org Advisory Board, and member of the Family Circle and Popsmear.org Advisory Board.
