Pediatric and Young Adult

The University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing has an immediate opening for a full time Lecturer.

Qualifications: Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited institution and a current PA RN license. Candidate should have a strong background in clinical, classroom and simulation teaching at the undergraduate and graduate level. Simulation experience required.

Ability to plan specific course content objectives and select text/readings that are consistent with these objectives. Develop and deliver lecture content, lecture materials, case studies, seminar content, and simulation scenarios. Provide direction, formative guidance and performance evaluation to students and course faculty. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

The candidate will teach in the Department of Biobehavioral Health Sciences in the School of Nursing.

Senior-level Leadership Capstone Course and Pediatric Simulation Teaching

The University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing has an immediate opening for a full time Lecturer.

Women’s Health Care Nurse Practitioner Program

Penn Nursing has an immediate opening for a full-time lecturer in the Women’s Health/Gender-Related Nurse Practitioner Program. Applicants with a strong NP role identity and prior clinical and classroom teaching experience are preferred. The position involves joining a dynamic team of NP’s and Midwives who collaboratively educate both WHNP’s and Midwives. Requisites include prior collegiate level teaching experience optimal; current Women’s Health NP clinical practice with expertise in comprehensive women’s healthcare; CRNP and RN licensure in Pennsylvania; national WHNP certification.  Candidates with a master’s in nursing required, doctoral degree or those planning to pursue a doctoral degree preferred.

Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist

The University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing has an immediate opening for a part-time Lecturer.

Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) with a doctoral degree in Nursing and a current Pennsylvania license as a Registered Nurse with a National Certification in Nurse Anesthesia. The candidate should have expertise in teaching strategies including the ability to plan specific course content objectives, select readings that are consistent with these objectives, create meaningful student evaluation methods, develop and deliver lecture content and utilize other innovative teaching methods, in addition to facility with learning management systems such as Canvas and simulation. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills; will mentor and advise undergraduate, masters and DNP students. Nurse anesthesia practice and teaching (or formal education in teaching) experience required.

The candidate will teach in the Department of Biobehavioral Health in the School of Nursing.

 

Family or Pediatric Advanced Practice Nurses
Family or Pediatric Advanced Practice Nurses interested in a part-time clinical teaching opportunity at the junior level in the BSN/MSN program. This seven-week course is offered in October, November, March, and April and focuses on the nursing care of children with acute and chronic health problems and their families. Clinical teachers usually work 12 hours per week and most sections meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays, although other days or evenings may be negotiated. Previous work experience at CHOP preferred.

 

Psychiatric Mental Health Advanced Practice Nurses
Psychiatric Mental-Health Advanced Practice Nurses interested in a part-time clinical teaching opportunity at the senior level in the BSN/MSN program. This seven-week clinical course focuses on the application of theories and principles to persons with psychiatric disorders and their families. Student clinical experiences occur primarily in acute care settings with optional experiences in a variety of primary care, acute, and long-term care settings. In the fall semester (September-October) clinical teachers usually work 16 hours per week and most sections meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays, although other days or evenings may be negotiated.

 

Adult or Family Advance Practice Nurses
Adult or Family Advance Practice Nurses with primary care, home care, or general community health nursing experience interested in a part-time clinical teaching opportunity at the senior level in the BSN/MSN program. This seven-week clinical course focuses on the synthesis of community health nursing theory through provision of nursing care to clients in community settings. Implementation and evaluation of nursing care is emphasized for clients in the community with common functional and physiological problems. In the fall semester (November-December) clinical teachers usually work 16 hours per week and most sections meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays, although other days or evenings may be negotiated.
