Penn Nursing Consultation Service
Gain access to a diverse network of experts
The Penn Nursing Consultation Service (PNCS) represents a network of over 120 nurse consultants and associates from related professions, such as nutrition, social work, occupational therapy, and practice-related business/strategic planning. Begun in 1988 as the Gerontologic Nursing Service, PNCS has evolved to advance the quality of life for persons of all ages, by sharing the expertise of its national network of advanced practice consultants under the direction of Rebecca Snyder Phillips, MSN, RN.
Creative solutions for tough problems
The Gerontologic Nursing Consultation Service was developed in response to growing requests from hospitals and health systems, nursing homes, area agencies on aging, professional organizations, schools of nursing, and law firms for help in finding creative solutions to tough problems. Over time, the Penn Nursing Consultation Service client base has expanded to include managed care, retirement communities, PACE (Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly) programs, and other long-term care systems. In addition, the PNCS assists clients in the fields of engineering, architecture, and other businesses involved in new product development and design.
Consultations, workshops, speaking engagements and more
PNCS provides institutional consultations, professional and consumer workshops, and other speaking engagements. PNCS offers consultations to groups of family caregivers and can assist with curricular- and research-related concerns. Penn Nursing Consultation Services can be extended to the broader community via distance learning and other technologies.
