My clinical experiences have been primarily in the area of caring for older adults, both in acute care and in community-based settings. Because I view the family as being important in the decisions about care for persons with dementia, my interest is in testing interventions that sustain family caregivers to be able to provide care to their loved one with dementia in their home environments.
The broad goal for my program of research is to enhance the family quality of life for persons with dementia and for their families. As such, I am focused on the alleviation of sleep disturbances in community-dwelling persons with dementia and in their family caregivers.
