Friday, November 4, 2005 the Faculty Senate
convened Youth and Aging: Penn Integrates Knowledge
Locally and Globally, a symposium exploring new
vistas in interdisciplinary research, integrative teaching,
and Penn’s growing local and global engagements.
Penn faculty from all twelve schools of the University
provided a range of perspectives on being young and growing
old in America and around
the globe.

President Amy Gutmann spoke about Penn's
commitment to the integration of knowledge, bringing
together a wide range of practical and theoretical
perspectives.
