Scholarship in Home Care Nursing

Kathryn Bowles, PhD, RN

Dr. Kathryn Bowles' work aims to advance the science in home care nursing with special emphasis on home care clinical scholarship. She is the recent recipient of the Beatrice Renfield Visiting Nurse Scholar.

This designation has enabled her to form close collaboration ties with the Visiting Nurse Service of New York (VNSNY). VNSNY is the largest non-profit home health care agency in the nation. With this collaboration,

Dr. Bowles has been able to develop a new model for advancing the science in home care. This model involves creating a culture of scholarship through the integration of the home care specialty knowledge base, and associated work to develop home care graduate programs.
