The
John A. Hartford Foundation Awards Scholarships
The John A. Hartford Foundation
Geriatric Nursing Scholarship program selected
the following nurse scholars from the University
of Pennsylvania for the Building
Academic Geriatric Nursing Capacity Scholars
Program (see also, http://www.geriatricnursing.org/scholars/),
administered by the American Academy of Nursing
(AAN). These nurse scholars were chosen in a national
competition as part of a new Hartford Foundation
initiative aimed at building academic geriatric
nursing capacity.
In addition, MBA Scholars were selected since March
2002. These nurses wish to pursue a business degree,
anticipating a career focus on the management/leadership
of institutions serving the elderly.
The
American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) was
also awarded a $2 million grant from the John A. Hartford
Foundation of New York to promote career opportunities
in geriatric advanced practice nursing and improve the
quality of care for older adults. Our School received
funds for two scholarships per year. For more information
