the distance learning seminar, "Using Large
Data Sets to Advance Research in Aging: The Medicare
Current Beneficiary Survey," Dr. Julie Sochalski
provided an overview of health services research and
methodological approaches through the use of large
administrative and survey data sets for research in
aging.
The
discussion focused on the design, methods and techniques
employed in using large data sets in pursuing
outcome studies on health care utilization. |

distance learning technology facilitated interactive
seminar participation of over 50 faculty and students
at the University of Pennsylvania with interested
colleagues at the University of Pittsburgh School
of Nursing.
