Welcome to the Center for Professional Development. The University of Pennsylvania, School of Nursing faculty believe that learning is a life long process and continuing education is an integral part of professional development. While graduate and undergraduate education lead to formal academic degrees, continuing professional education consists of those learning activities intended to build upon the educational and experiential basis of nurses. As a research institution, the University places a high priority on the generation of new knowledge and insights in the sciences and arts. Consistent with the University goals of linking both theoretical and applied knowledge, the Center for Professional Development enhances practice, education, administration, research, and theory development.
Purpose
The primary purpose of the Center for Professional Development is to provide
quality Life Long Learning opportunities for the Alumni of the School of Nursing
and nurses in the profession of Nursing.
Goals
1. Provide Lifelong Learning opportunities for professional nurses regarding
the
latest developments, concepts, and research in advanced nursing practice and
the
profession of nursing.
2. Increase awareness in the nursing community of current health care trends and
practice issues.
3. Collaborate with other health care professionals to provide educational
opportunities for
nurses and other members of the health care team.
