Research Initiatives

The BRC has been organized around five areas of funded research strengths and six cores that reflect multiple services and resources that underlie these areas of research. The areas of research are:

  • Sleep
  • Nutrition/Metabolism
  • Environment
  • Genetics/human development
  • Neuroscience

Research may address the dynamic relationshipbetweenphysiology and behavior in the prevention and early detection of disease, symptom control and quality of life, and management of acute and chronic illness. True to the comprehensive diversity agenda of the School of Nursing, researchers in the BRC are concerned about the health of diverse populations that span age, racial, and socioeconomic perspectives.
