Alumni Opportunities for Involvement

Penn Nursing Alumni represent the best in the country and it is our hope to bring more of you back to campus each year. We offer a variety of opportunities to stay connected with Penn Nursing student programs, alumni events and reunions, and becoming a member of our Alumni Resource List. Please take a look at the list below and tell us how you would like to get involved.

Connecting with Students

  • Alumni Liaison Program: To increase student awareness of the variety of roles nurses play and to reinforce their identification with the nursing profession. If you work in the Philadelphia area, you can host a first year student for a workplace visit. An opportunity for you to share your experience and expertise as you give new students their first meaningful look at nursing. Answers to Alumni Liaison FAQs
  • Alumni Mentor: To provide upperclassmen with professional guidance as they consider clinical specialties and job opportunities. Keep in touch with your student regularly to answer questions and to offer your experience. An opportunity for you to build a longer term relationship with a current student to support the future of nursing.
  • Alumni Resource List: To offer a broad range of alumni volunteers to meet the needs of students. You can be our first resource to answer specific questions from students, to share your experience with student groups or classes, or to feature your story in our publications. An opportunity for you to collaborate with faculty and staff to share the breadth and depth of nursing roles and to support our students in selecting their nursing direction.

Connecting with Alumni

  • Share your Story: To help us capture the variety of talents and experience that Penn Nurses give to others, share your personal story with the School. An opportunity to help Penn Nursing tell our full alumni story for prospective and current students, honor your achievements and advocate for resources.
  • Reunion Chair or Co-Chair: To encourage spirit and participation in Penn Nursing Alumni Weekend activities each May. You can help us connect with your classmates to gather their personal stories and encourage them to celebrate with us. An opportunity to rekindle old friendships and pass on the Penn Nursing legacy to young alumni.
  • Alumni Award Nominations: To recognize the achievements of all Penn Nursing alumni. Nominate your classmates, friends or colleagues to help us acknowledge the outstanding accomplishments that our alumni have made to the profession and the health of the broader community. An opportunity for you to celebrate your fellow alumni and their gifts.
