BUILDING HISTORY
The School of Nursing was constructed in 1973 as the Tri-Institutional
Nurses Education Building (TRINEB) designed to house three separate hospital
nursing education programs: the HUP School of Nursing, the Philadelphia
General Hospital School of Nursing, and the CHOP Pediatric Affiliation Program.
Just over 30 years old, what was the TRINEB, and is now Penn's School of Nursing, is poised to
undergo a series of renovations that promise to support today's community of
scholars.
Major
renovations are planned for the School of Nursing which will enhance the learning
environment, foster community and encourage collaboration.
Our vision is to create an integrated space for education, research and social
interaction designed to attract the best and brightest students and faculty, to raise the
visibility of our top-ranked school, to better connect to the university and to
ultimately create a vibrant community of scholarship within and around the
School of Nursing.
