Program Overview
The Adult Health Nurse Practitioner Program is a premier program in the United States and abroad dedicated to educating nurses for comprehensive primary care and specialty care practice in a variety of settings. Nurse practitioners base their practice on a distinct body of knowledge that is supported by a sound and growing body of research in nursing.
As direct providers of primary healthcare, nurse practitioners are responsible for delivering nursing and medical services to individuals and families with acute and chronic health problems. Adult health nurse practitioners emphasize quality relationships with patients, families, and communities, the education of patients and families, and coordination of services for improved health outcomes.
Graduates are eligible to become nationally certified through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) and then to apply for practice in their state.
