Post-Master's Certificate in Sleep! 
 
 

The University of Pennsylvania, School of Nursing is pleased to announce a new post-master’s certificate program in Sleep beginning fall 2008. This program provides an inter-disciplinary, collaborative plan of coursework that prepares students to apply theoretical concepts of sleep for implementation in practice and research. The flexibility of this program allows for a combination of online courses and clinical experiences to meet the needs of each student. Post-master’s Certificate Program in Sleep Application Requirements

Applicants who have previously graduated from a Master’s program in Nursing are not required to submit GRE scores. With the exception of the GREs, Post-Master’s applicants must meet all other Master’s application requirements. Please see below for specific application instructions for Sleep Certificate applicants.

Official Transcripts:

In order to submit the application you will need to upload unofficial copies of your transcript(s). Unofficial copies of transcripts are for review only. Your application will not be complete until official transcripts are received by the School of Nursing.

Essay Response:

Briefly assess your career progress and goals to date and your interest in sleep. What role does the University of Pennsylvania certificate program serve in meeting these goals?

The essay should be 1-2 pages in length, double-space. The online application system requires the submission of two separate essays. In order to bypass this requirement, please upload your essay response twice.  

Recommendations:

The Sleep Certificate application requires 2 letters of recommendation. When completing the application, please enter the names and e-mail addresses of the individuals who will be submitting references on your behalf. The online application system requires three letters of recommendation in order to proceed. To bypass this requirement, please list Carol Ladden (ladden@nursing.upenn.edu) as your third reference.

Interviews

The program director will review completed applications, and invite qualified applicants to interview. Most interviews can be completed in-person or via telephone.

Financial Assistance

Applicants applying for financial aid must complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). The School of Nursing institutional code for FAFSA is 003378. FAFSA applications can be found online at www.fafsa.ed.gov or at any college financial aid office.
