POST-MASTERS APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS
A. GENERAL
Penn Nursing offers post-master’s certificates to MSN-prepared nurses seeking to further advance their careers and clinical practice. Post-Master’s applicants must meet all MSN application requirements.
B. LICENSURE
All master’s students are required to have a Pennsylvania Registered Nursing License. Therefore, when you submit an application you will be required to provide a copy of a current Pennsylvania Registered Nursing License.
C. GAP ANALYSIS
Once your application is complete the program faculty will conduct a preliminary analysis of previously completed course work and if admitted a DRAFT plan of study will be generated. Upon acceptance of your admission offer, candidates must submit a $300.00 fee so a formal gap analysis can be conducted. Syllabi and course calendars for each of the courses preliminarily considered transferrable must be submitted. A thorough curriculum review will be conducted resulting in development of a final plan of study and formalization of the gap analysis. The gap analysis is a requirement when submitting your application for certification.
NOTE:
Individuals seeking to complete an MSN minor as a certificate are exempt from the gap analysis.
D. STANDARDIZED TESTING
Applicants who have previously graduated from a master’s program in nursing are not required to submit GRE scores.
E. OTHER
Tuition for post-master's students is based upon graduate tuition rates. Please visit the School of Nursing's financial aid web page for more information.
