GRE Waiver Requirements

Applicants to the MSN program who meet the following criteria are eligible for a waiver of the Graduate Record Exam (GRE): 

• BSN graduate from an accredited institution in the United States or Canada
• Cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.2 or above on a 4.0 scale from the institution that awarded the BSN degree
• Post-master’s applicants or applicants with a master’s degree in another discipline with a GPA of 3.0 or above 

Applicants to the following programs are not eligible for the GRE waiver:

• RN Returns (without BSN)
• BSN/MSN applicants
• PhD Applicants
• International applicants  

Please note: The GRE waiver is not guaranteed. Program Directors may request GREs from eligible applicants at their discretion. Approval for the GRE Waiver does not guarantee admission to the MSN program. Your cumulative undergraduate GPA will be used to determine your eligibility for waiver. Penn Nursing will not re-calculate your GPA.
