Doctoral Tuition and Financial Aid

The School of Nursing is committed to assisting the "full-time" doctoral students. The assistance is usually in the form of a Teaching or Research Assistantship or a University Fellowship which pays the student’s "full-time" tuition charges. Along with the tuition support, students will also receive a 9-month stipend. Students who are "part-time" are not eligible for this support.

About Doctoral Student Funding »

Questions about the full-time or part-time status for doctoral candidates should be directed to the financial aid office by calling 215-898-8191 or emailing nursing-finaid@nursing.upenn.edu

Tuition and Fees

For the 2012-2013 academic year, the fee schedule for full-time doctoral students will be as follows:

Full-time

Tuition & Fees               $30,800

Room & Board                16,310

*Books                            1,660

*Personal                         6,625

TOTAL                          $55,395

* Please keep in mind that the school does not bill the student for books and personal expenses. We do, however, build these figures into the Student Budget to better help students and their families plan for all costs associated with a Penn Nursing Education. Likewise, we give financial aid based on the entire student budget, not just on the cost of tuition and fees.
