Doctoral Student Funding
The University of Pennsylvania, School of Nursing is committed to fully funding all full-time doctoral students for four years. Each full time doctoral student receives a stipend, funding for all required course work and individual health insurance. Currently the minimum stipend is $19,600 for September-May. Students often receive their funding through teaching and research participation. All doctoral students will complete a one semester research residency and one semester teaching residency to enhance socialization in both of these roles. Each individual student, with the help of his or her advisor/chairperson, will identify the semester during which they wish to complete their research residency and teaching residencies.
