Prerequisite Courses
The accelerated program at Penn Nursing offers two start dates for applicants, a student can begin in late-June 2010, which is the shorter program, or in September 2010 (this option is for someone that would like to complete the majority of the prerequisite courses at Penn).
The prerequisites to begin in September 2010 (27 months for the BSN):
8 Credits of Chemistry with lab (Inorganic Chem)
4 Credits of Biology with lab
4 Credits of Microbiology with lab
The prerequisites to begin in June 2010 are (18 months for the BSN):
8 Credits of Chemistry with lab (Inorganic Chem)
4 Credits of Biology with lab
8 Credits of Anatomy and Physiology with lab
4 Credits of Microbiology with lab
3 Credits of Nutrition; 3 Credits of Human Development via the life-span and 3 Credits of Statistics
Please note official approval of transfer credit is completed by the faculty after acceptance into the program. It is strongly recommended that the prerequisite courses be completed within the last five years in order to ensure transfer credit. All courses must be completed at an accredited institution and have a grade of C or higher for posting.
