Caroline Lloyd Doherty, MSN, CRNP, BC
Associate Program Director
Carrie is the Associate Program Director in the Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Program. She is a graduate of Villanova University (BSN) and the University of Pennsylvania (MSN). She conducts admission interviews and assists prospective students with the admissions process. In addition, she is the Course Director for the Principles of Acute Care.
In addition to her responsibilities at Penn, she has an appointment at The Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner in Interventional Cardiology. Her dual appointment enables her to remain current on nurse practitioner practice issues as well as issues in the management of Cardiovascular patients.
Carrie is the 2009 recipient of the Outstanding Educator Award - an award given out by the Graduate Student Organization for excellence in teaching at the master’s level, knowledge of the subject matter, ability to stimulate student interest and professional development, innovative teaching methods, and responsiveness to students.
Carrie is a member of the American Association of Critical Care Nurses and the American College of Cardiology (ACC). She is a Cardiac Care Associate District Liaison for the Pennsylvania Chapter of the ACC.
