Thank you for your interest in the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing. We are pleased that you are considering Penn as the place to pursue your educational and career goals. Do you have a non-Nursing Bachelor’s Degree, or are you a Registered Nurse?
The BSN Second Degree Program is for you if you are exclusively interested in getting your Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, but are not sure of or interested in a Master’s specialty at this time. The BSN/MSN Program is for you if you know what Master’s in Nursing specialty you would like to pursue.
The accelerated application for the BSN Second Degree and BSN/MSN will be available online in late summer 2008. The application deadline for entry in 2009 is October 15, 2008.

application requirements: Application: Forms 1A, 1B, 2, 4 and 5 2 Essays 2 Recommendation, - at least one academic recommendation ALL college transcripts Form of Standardized Testing: BSN Second Degree: SAT, ACT or GRE BSN/MSN: GRE only (Institution code #2911). Interview: Interviews are required for all applicants (To be completed by December 15, 2008)
The accelerated program is scheduled to begin June 29, 2009, below are the required prerequisites courses: 2 Semesters of Chemistry with lab 1 Semesters of Biology with lab 2 Semesters of Anatomy and Physiology with lab 1 Semester of Microbiology with lab 1 Semester of Nutrition, including life-cycle nutrition 1 Semester of Human Development via the life-span 1 Semester of Statistics 1 Semester of Health Care Ethics, this class can be completed at Penn within the program
Please note official approval of transfer credit is completed by the faculty after acceptance into the program. Please review the list of transferable courses included in your packet for additional information and guidelines. Find and file away a copy of the syllabus of any prerequisite courses you have taken that you would like to transfer for credit.
