Student Healthcare Alliance at Penn (SHAPE)

About Us

In order to deliver quality care to patients, it is extremely important for each member of the health care team to understand both her/his own role and the roles played by her/his other team members. For this reason, the Student Healthcare Alliance at Penn (SHAPE) was established as a collaborative, interdisciplinary organization between nursing students and medical students at the University of Pennsylvania.

Mission

SHAPE's mission is to serve as a catalyst for nursing students and medical students to interact with one another in both professional and casual settings. SHAPE aims to foster an environment of collegiality, camaraderie, and interdisciplinary understanding among students of both schools. We believe that healthy, mutually-respectful dialogue between nursing and medical students during our educations will prove beneficial in the future, when we will be working together to care for patients.
