Meet the MAN-UP Board 2010-2011!

Spencer Stubbs (Nursing '13) - President
South Plainfield, NJ - "I have family members who are both physicians and nurses, so thankfully I was able to see the differences. I was swayed to nursing because I was able to sense that doctors may cure diseases, but nurses cure people. And I love patient interaction!"

Andres Sepulveda (Nursing '13) - Vice President
Middlesex, NJ - "Nursing is certainly an inspiring career, a perfect blend of science, medicine, intuition, and above all compassion. I knew that I would become a nurse when I realized that I could empower patients to live happier lives and provide healing that no one else could."
Steven Cabrera (Nursing '13) - Vice President
Bronx, NY - "I knew I wanted to be part of the medical hield; however, when I started to find out more about nusing, I was amazed at the opportunities. More importantly, I saw the focus on patient interaction and then fell in love with nursing. I'm hoping to become an Acute-Care Nurse Practitioner one day."

Anthony Zarate (Nursing '13) - Secretary
Mount Vernon, NY - "My entire family is a group of nurses. It has been in my blood ever since I was a child and I grew up learning about the job. Now I have the opportunity to make myself a "super-nurse" here at Penn. I really want to become a pediatric nurse one day because I love kids!"

Zia Zaidi (Nursing '14) - Treasurer
Mendham, NJ - "The reason I entered nursing is due to my Emergency Medical Services experience. I was an Emergenncy Medical Technician for two years and I worked alongside nurses and doctors as I brought patients to the hospital from the ambulance. I hope to transcend through all aspects of the healthcare chan and the next for me after EMT was nursing."

Tyler Melvin (Nursing '14) - Co-Social Chair
Atkinson, NH - "I chose nursing because it provides so many opportunities to make a difference in the world."

Chris Wojcik (Nursing '14) - Co-Social Chair
McLean, VA - "I had never contemplated going into health care until I had an emergency appendectomy sophomore year of high school and spent a few days in the hospital. The amazingly personal experience I had with my nurse really sparked my interest in health care, and specifically in nursing. Following this, I volunteered for two years at Georgetown University Hospital to further explore my interest in the field of health care. I was immediately drawn to the incredibly personal and holistic care nurses are able to provide and knew it was the career choice for me."

Ryan Keating (Nursing '14) - Recruitment Chair
Burlington, MA - "I chose nursing because I want to help patients and be a support for their families during difficult times. Nursing will give me the opportunity to help others and make a difference in the world."
