January 24, 5:30-7PM - Penn IUR Public Interest Event, Urban Book Talk: "Women's Health and the World's Cities", Ben Franklin Room, Houston Hall. Co-sponsored with Penn Press and the School of Nursing, the volume editors and contributors of Women's Health and the World's Cities (Penn Press, 2011) will discuss the key issues presented in the book.  Women's Health and the World's Cities illuminates the intersection of gender, health, and urban environments.  From the interdisciplinary perspective of urban planners, scholars, health practitioners, and activists, this collection of essays examines the impact of urban living on the physical and psychological states of women and girls in Africa, Asia, Latin America, and the United States.  The event will be followed by a book signing and reception.  Speakers included Afaf I. Meleis, Dean of the School of Nursing; Jeane Ann Grisso, Professor of Public Health, Department of Family Medicine and Community Health, Perelman School of Medicine; Kat Rosqueta, Founding Executive Director of the Center for High Impact Philanthropy at University of Pennsylvania; Lynn Sommers, Director, Penn's School of Nursing Center for Global Women's Health, and Eugenie Birch, Co-Director, Penn Institute for Urban Research.

May 11-13 - Alumni Weekend 2012 featuring a Women's Health and Midwifery reunion, the inaugural symposium for the Center for Global Women's Health, the Legacy Breakfast for 50th reunion and HUP alumni, faculty lectures and the traditional Parade and Picnic.

June 21-22 - International Invitational State of the Science Conference on the Advancement of Alzheimer's Diagnosis, Treatment and Care
